Literature Text

Listen, politician,
Tell me what you see.
We protest and we plea,
Don’t you see us try to flee
From your reign of tyranny?
Or are you on your spending spree?

Your eyes are on our flag,
Your hand is o’er your heart.
Your lips speak of a nation that couldn’t be more apart.
What principles will you impart,
To commence us a new start?

Listen, politician,
Lend your eyes to what we see.

Listen, politician,
Tell me what you hear.
All our panic, all our fear,
You must hear it loud and clear,
Or will our problems disappear,
If you just stay another year?

We listen to you read
Your prepared and humble creed,
While you ramble and mislead
About your so-called good deeds
While your greed supersedes
What your people really need.

Listen, politician,
Lend your ear to what we hear.

Listen, politician,
Tell me how you feel?
You lie and cheat and steal
And make your secret deals
All of which you will conceal,
To keep your public appeal.

Your sudden rise to fame
And all your won acclaim
The light cast on you darkened
by the shadow of your shame
You proclaim another name,
Shift the shade and all the blame,
That’s a politician’s game.

Listen, politician,
Lend your heart to what we feel.

A poem I wrote about scummy politicians who refuse to listen to the very people who put them in power.

This, funnily enough, reminds me of this scene in one of PBG's hacking videos: youtu.be/NS1SbaSzJVA?t=6m21s
